WMBE-Certified Fresh Family LLC Leads Way in Hazardous Waste-Construction Services with Comm. Focus

Fresh Family LLC is a shining example of a minority woman-owned business that is breaking down barriers and making a positive impact on the community. Founded in 2021 by Debbie Wilson in Seattle, Washington, Fresh Family LLC is a multifaceted business that specializes in hazardous waste & encampment mitigation services. Since opening they have displayed an amazing track record of quality service and have quickly expanded, adding a division that is now opening the door to prevailing wage jobs in general construction. Fresh Family is unique in that it is more than just a business. They are committed to providing living wage jobs and creating a positive impact on the community by providing access to opportunities that will reshape the future in marginalized BIPOC communities.

Fresh Family LLC's expertise in hazardous waste and encampment waste environments is an important service given the current state of Seattle’s homeless pandemic and the potential danger to public health and safety that has arisen from these situations. Their construction division is skilled in demolition, interior finishing, and final cleaning, providing a comprehensive service that covers specialized aspects of a construction project. A noteworthy aspect of Fresh Family LLC is their WMBE certification, which stands for Women and Minority Business Enterprise. This certification recognizes their commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Most recently, in focus of creating positive change in their community Fresh Family is partnering with the state of Washington’s Labor and Industries department to create the first black-owned apprentice program in the state. This is an important initiative, as apprenticeship programs can provide valuable training and job opportunities for individuals who may not have had access to them otherwise.

By creating a black-owned apprentice program, Fresh Family LLC is not only providing job opportunities for BIPOC individuals but also promoting diversity and inclusion in the workforce. This program will help address the underrepresentation of black-owned businesses in the state and create more opportunities for individuals. Provide on-the-job training, mentorship, and educational opportunities that will undoubtedly lead to long-term employment and career advancement.

One of the biggest challenges for BIPOC workers in the United States is access to livable wages. In many industries, workers of color are often paid less than their white counterparts, even when they have the same qualifications and experience. Fresh Family LLC is breaking this cycle by providing livable wages to all its employees, regardless of their race or ethnicity. This not only creates a more equitable workplace, but it also helps to stimulate the local economy by putting more money into the hands of workers who are more likely to spend it in the community.

Fresh Family LLC is breaking barriers and making positive strides for our community. They are a responsible business with a commitment to diversity and inclusion, public safety, and revitalizing communities. Their range of expertise, WMBE certification, and dedication to implementing adequate procedures in hazardous situations make them a valuable partner for municipalities and other organizations looking to create positive change and support inclusion. They share their appreciation of support from organizations such as Tabor 100, PTAC, MDBA, L&I and others that have committed to supporting the notion of Breaking the Chain.
