About the Building Futures Program
The Building Futures with Fresh Family – Living Wage Job Readiness Training Program is a transformative initiative focused on empowering individuals from underserved communities to secure living-wage careers in the construction and labor industries. With $220,000 in funding from the King County Participatory Budgeting Program, this program provides residents of the Skyway/West Hill area with access to hands-on training in construction safety, hazardous material handling, equipment operation, and more. Participants also earn industry-recognized certifications, such as Hazpower 40m OSHA 10, CPR, Mental Aid and First Aid.
This program is part of Fresh Family LLC’s mission to address systemic inequities and create pathways to economic independence. By equipping participants with essential skills and opportunities, Building Futures not only transforms lives but also contributes to building stronger, more resilient communities.

The Building Futures with Fresh Family – Living Wage Job Readiness Training Program is designed for residents of the Skyway/West Hill area who are eager to gain hands-on training and certifications in construction, demolition, and environmental cleanup industries. Whether starting a new career or expanding your skills, this program provides a valuable pathway to meaningful, living-wage opportunities. The program is fully funded through King County's participatory budget, at no cost to participants, and includes certifications in Hazpower 40, OSHA 10, Mental Aid, and CPR. The program lasts 6 weeks starting on March 10th at the Fresh Family Training Facilities. Space is limited, so be sure to apply today to start your journey toward a brighter future.
